Reports to: Director of Nursing
Position: Unclassified, part-time contracted
Hours: 14 hours per week (Wednesdays & Fridays)
Salary: $70 per hour, payable biweekly
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Miami County Public Health (MCPH) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of our community through the Reproductive Health and Wellness Program (RHWP) and other Nurse Practitioner duties as needed. In addition to the RHWP, MCPH also offers prenatal care, a well child clinic, immunizations, adult physicals, and communicable disease investigations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Graduate-level degree in nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Ohio.
- Current CPR certification
- Strong clinical skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets the insurability requirements of the agency's insurance provider.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Preferred:
- Prior clinical experience in a relevant specialty area.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Deliver comprehensive reproductive health and wellness services per nationally recognized standards.
- Provide patient education to ensure compliance with Title X Funded Family Planning Projects.
- Offer onsite services to low-income individuals, including contraceptive services, pregnancy testing, basic infertility services, preconception care, STD services, annual exams, and cancer screenings.
- Provide telehealth services as appropriate.
- Outreach to hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations.
- Travel to off-site locations to provide RHWP services.
- Follow RHW Program Plan, grant requirements, and MCPH policies.
- Participate in Quality Improvement, Accreditation, Strategic Plan, Emergency Preparedness, Community Health Assessment (CHA), and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
- Coordinate with other contracted APRNs for coverage when unavailable.
- Perform additional NP duties as needed that could include adult physicals, well child checks, immunization education, and communicable disease consultation.
